This garden is about editing and emphasizing the multi-layered plant communities both native and welcome adapted plants so they’re readable and appealing. A contemporary deck of mahogany, cedar, glass, and copper invite the couple and friends into the garden. A new micro-meadow of little bluestem, erigeron, butterflyweed, and milkweed brings all kinds of pollinators as well as the summer sounds of crickets, grasshoppers, singing birds, and the rough-rustle of the grasses. A custom bluestone and brass birdbath by a local artist Leslie Bryce adds sculptural interest while benefiting birds. www.lesliebryce.com
